Leshan Vocational and Technical College Wins Bronze Medal in Energy and Power Track of 2025 WorldSkills Competition for Vocational Colleges

Time:2025-09-11

On September 9th, the final of the Energy and Power Track of the 2025 WorldSkills Competition for Vocational Colleges concluded at Xingxin Vocational and Technical College of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The competition attracted more than 100 higher vocational colleges across the country to compete on the same stage. The participating team from the Photovoltaic Engineering Technology major of the College of New Energy and Materials of our college was co-guided by two teachers, Deng Kai and Lu Qiang. Four contestants—Tang Fei, Li Kai, He Wu, and Liu Wei—won the bronze medal with their excellent skills, solid professional competence, and stable performance.

As a traditional core track of the WorldSkills Competition for Vocational Colleges, the Energy and Power Track has always been a key battleground for vocational colleges of energy and power disciplines nationwide. Its competition content covers cutting-edge technical modules such as new energy power generation system design, energy efficiency optimization, source-grid-load-storage collaborative control, and AI intelligent operation and maintenance, which comprehensively tests the participating teams' ability in theoretical application, practical operation, and innovation. After two consecutive days of intense competition, our college's team demonstrated solid technical skills in key links such as intelligent design of distributed photovoltaic systems, intelligent construction of photovoltaic power stations, and AI fault diagnosis, ultimately standing out among many strong teams.

This award not only verifies the quality of professional talent cultivation in our college but also achieves multiple breakthroughs through the competition platform: participating teachers and students honed their skills in competing with top colleges across the country, and the guiding teacher team broadened their horizons in practical teaching of vocational education. Meanwhile, in-depth exchanges with sister colleges during the competition have accumulated valuable experience for our college in innovating the training mode of new energy technology and skilled talents, and constructing training bases, laying a solid foundation for competing for higher awards in subsequent competitions.

Next, the College of New Energy and Materials will take this award as an opportunity to deepen the teaching reform path of "promoting teaching, learning, and reform through competitions", continuously improve the level of professional construction and talent cultivation, and deliver more high-skilled "sunshine craftsmen" for the photovoltaic new energy industry.
