Another Boost to Teaching in Zambia! Two Teachers from Our University Serve as Judges for CNMC Local Employees' Skills Competition

From September 10 to 11, 2025, the finals of the 2025 Local Employees' Skills Competition for CNMC (China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd.) Enterprises in Zambia officially kicked off at the China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College in Luanshya, Zambia. Two teachers from our university, Quan Huiying and Liu Yu, were invited to serve as judges for the competition. They contributed their professional expertise to enhancing the skills of local employees of Chinese-funded enterprises overseas, earnestly fulfilling the international responsibilities of vocational education under the background of the "Belt and Road Initiative".

As a teacher specializing in new energy, Quan Huiying was responsible for refereeing the electrical engineering category. Relying on her rich experience in domestic skills competitions, she worked with other members of the judging panel to adopt Chinese technical standards and scoring system throughout the process, conducting strict evaluations on core competition modules such as wire connection and function setting to ensure the professionalism and fairness of the competition.

Liu Yu, a teacher from the Ideological and Political Education Teaching and Research Section of our university, served as the Chief Referee for the "Team Leader Collaboration and Leadership" category. This competition category promotes the cultivation of transnational management talents through situational assessment and has set up three innovative segments: blindfolded five-pointed star assembly (to test team collaboration), body language information transmission (to evaluate communication effectiveness), and team leader competition speech (to demonstrate management thinking).

This competition attracted the participation of 7 Chinese-funded enterprises in Zambia, with more than 50 local employees competing on the same stage. The competition not only effectively tested the skill levels of local employees in Chinese-funded enterprises but also became an important practical carrier for the integration of Chinese and Zambian vocational education standards. The person in charge of CNMC in Zambia stated that the introduction of the Chinese judging panel in this competition marks the increasing maturity of the "Chinese Enterprises + Chinese Vocational Education" collaborative overseas development model, providing strong support for the in-depth integration of overseas vocational education and industrial development.
